Meet the Craftsman Behind Our Custom Carpentry

Every custom piece of furniture or cabinetry at Werner Harmsen begins with more than wood and tools—it starts with a story.

Our in-house carpenter grew up learning the trade alongside his grandpa, helping restore old furniture and building new pieces in the family shop.That early start sparked a lifelong love of craftsmanship that now lives on in every table, cabinet, and built-in he creates for our customers.

“I was drawn to carpentry by my grandpa,” he says. “He’d bring me to jobs as a kid and let me help in his shop. I loved fixing up old furniture and making new pieces from scratch.”

Today, he builds everything from dining and coffee tables to epoxy river tables and full custom cabinetry—each one designed to fit the customer’s space, lifestyle, and taste.

“If there’s a piece you have in mind and can’t find it in a catalog,” he says, “we can probably make it.”
